I was hoping to get a video camera for my birthday and i was wondering whats the best kind thats not higher than 250
Answer
Well as a cinematographer I have used a lot of cameras but it narrows down to only a few I'd suggest for under $250. First is Somy DCR-SX45, It's about $200. I am
currently using one of theses as a secondary camcorder that I take everywhere instead of taking my Canon XLH1 everywhere.
The second camera I'm gonna suggest is waterproof which is the Kodak Playsport (Zx5), about $159.00. I use this camera when skiing/snowboarding, canoeing/kayaking, swimming, and anytime it is suppose to rain.

what would be a good camera for an 8th grade classroom under $250?
hmmmm.....
ok, so i know an 8th grade teacher who is in search of a camera for her classroom. we both agreed that it shouldn't be overly large [like those ones that almost look like mini dslrs] or too small, because knowing how some [not all, but some] of the students can be irrisponsible, there is always the fear that theyre going to do something stupid and break it. so for this fact, i've advised her that she also get a protection plan. lol, but still like a medium sized camera. also, she wants atleast 10mp [12mp preferably] and good picture quality. i recommend canon's [as a canon point & shoot owner] but i know that there are plenty of other good cameras out there that aren't canon's as well. she was considering mabey this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemplatemapper.jsp?id=1218068108922&type=product
but i'm not a huge fan of some sony products [some i like, some i'm not thrilled with] so i'm not exactly sure what to say. i have one just like this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Canon+-+PowerShot+12.1-Megapixel+Digital+Camera+-+Silver/9347405.p?id=1218088854715&skuId=9347405 so i reccommend that, but then that leaves alot of extra money in her budget. lol. also, i like this one alot: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Canon+-+PowerShot+12.1-Megapixel+Digital+ELPH+Camera+-+Black/9230539.p?id=1218063557398&skuId=9230539
so if anyone is willing to help her out i would be very greatful :] thank you!
Answer
It sounds like she needs some thing that is waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, crushproof and shakeproof....
