What is the best Waterproof HD camera for the buck? I am going on a cruise and am in the pool often and i am looking for an HD video camera that is waterproof. I was very interested in the Kodak Play Sport that just came out. Its is only $150. My price range is below or around $200. I already have a sony tx1 that I use for other hd videos and pictures. So this is like a secondary "fun" camera that i can be rough with especially in the water. Thanks!

I am looking to buy an HD camcorder with the best quality i can get that shoots in H.264 that i can use as a webcam on my 24" iMac. Which rugged digital camera is best?

So I just went to bestbuy and they have in the new olympus stylus touch 6000 and it seems like a good deal. for $299 its waterproof, shock proof and freeze proof. Reviews say it isnt a bad rugged digital cam but a lot of them suggest other rugged camera's instead but I didnt see any other ones at bestbuy. Anyone have any thoughts on it? Maybe personal experience with rugged cameras? I actually found the olympus for $263 online.

Q. Can anyone tell me exactly what type of printers are used printing Birth, Birthday, Anniversary and Wedding Announcements? I'm looking to start my own thing, but would like to have the right equipment. Would it be a laser printer or is it more advanced than a laser printer?

My waterproof camera cost about 125$. It was money well spent. I've had it for a year now and it's great and works wonderfully. You can buy a
camera WITH a case, like I did. You can find little kids underwater cameras for a lot cheaper but they don't work quite as well.

High quality yet affordable underwater camera?

This summer I'm going snorkeling for a few weeks in the Great Barrier Reef and I would love to get some great underwater photos. I have a Nikon D7000. Is there a certain kind of case I put around it to take underwater (this may sound completely ridiculous)? If not, what are some semi-high quality but affordable (under $300) underwater cameras?

The spacial waterproof cases for Nikon are quite expensive. Sometimes it is easier to buy waterproof camera instead.
Latest waterproof cameras are quite good. On very rare occasions they come faulty, but the same is with regular digital cameras.
If you want camera, that makes good quality pictures on land or underwater, then I would suggest to look into these three cameras: Sony TX5, Panasonic Lumix TS2 and Olympus Rough 8010.
And all three of them cost less than $300 on Amazon.
You just need to decide which features you need more:
Sony TX5 is waterproof to 10 ft, when Panasonic TS2 and Olympus Rough 8010 are both waterproof to 33ft. And Sony TX5 has got the lowest resolution from these three. It's just 10.2 megapixels. Panasonic and Olympus have a resolution of 14MP, which is quite a great difference.
All cameras are shock-, dust-, sand- and freeze-proof. But Olympus 8010 is also a crushproof and designed to withstand a weight up to 220 pounds.
Sony TX5 gives you the opportunity to capture panoramic pictures with it's Sweep Panorama feature. Your images are automatically stitched together, which gives you the extra-wide view of the scenery.
Olympus 8010 has got the panoramic shooting option too. It also comes with a built-in 2GB memory, which is more than most cameras available on the market.
Panasonic TS2 has a good quality video recording. Although all these cameras record video in HD format. But Panasonic TS2 seems to be the most expensive out of them.
But if you do not need waterproof camera right now, Sony are releasing a new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10 in April 2011. It will have a resolution of impressing 16.2 megapixels. And it is going to be the first waterproof camera that can capture 3D still images. You can pre-order this camera and it costs $330.

How do you take pictures underwater? What equipment do I need?

I am going to the Flordia Key in two weeks. I know all about the camera water casing (they cost alot). I was thinking about buying desposible underwater cameras, but my instructor that the cameras would not take good pictures. I own a Digital SLR camera, but I think it would be risky to bring it underwater, even with a covering. Should I buy a waterproof digital camera (Camera types?)? Any solutions (Not requiring loads of money)?
Also, is there any "rules" to taking pictures underwater? Lastly, is there any procedures to taking good pictures underwater?

Rubbish. A disposable will be OK if you're only snorkeling, but the photo quality royally sucks (underwater only). I tried using 30(?) meter disposables on 10 dives in Cozumel and NO underwater photos were even a little acceptable.

You reference an instructor, so we can assume that you are diving. Most budget conscious divers go to Leisure Pro for their non-life-supporting accessories, but even there you will see housings aren't cheap. Best bet is to hold off on photography until you can drop the $200 on a good, reliable housing for your digital cam.

Rules- Always be aware of your surroundings. You and your buddies safety is first, getting a shot of the mermaid is a distant second.
It's all about the light. Read up on how to photograph underwater without a strobe (the Net is peppered with articles). If by 'rules' you meant 'laws' regarding photographing underwater, the answer is "if you can see it, you can photograph it" (unless diving Area 51).
