im cheap okay.
Answer
You're not cheap if you can afford to throw away a camera.
Even if you could make it absolutely waterproof, the picture you'd get through the plastic used in most plastic bags would be useless...just try it on dry land and check the quality.
If there's one to fit your camera, the Dicapac range is good value...

I recommend the Lowepro Stealth Reporter D550 AW. I personally carry this bag and LOVE it. It holds my Canon 30D and 40D, Canon Speedlite 430EX, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, Canon 24-105mm macro, 28-135 macro, Tokina Fisheye Lens, Canon 12; 24; 36mm Extension Tubes, and Canon Teleconverter 2X. It also came with a 16 CF Card wallet and a waterproof bag for miscellaneous stuff such as remote triggers, battery chargers or lens cleaner and lens cloths. The bag also holds my Lastolite foldable stop shade. It has several pockets and compartments to hold anything. It has a laptop case built into it as well. I am able to carry everything I need all in this bag. Filters, tape, chargers, gel paper, batteries, and whatever else I can think of. I have had several cases and bags for my gear and this is by far the best I have owned. I also wanted to point out that it has a stored rain coat for rainy days too. I payed around $250.00 for it from bhphotovideo.com. It was a little pricey for a soldiers pay but it is worth every penny. Hope this helped you.
