WHATS THE best camera for taking pics AND videos....nothing TOOO expencive but not CHEAP....i live in oregon...clackamas.....OOOOH and whats a good program to edit video if u wanna know WHY im asking....im making vids on youtube...and i need 2 know best camera and program 2 edit...so theyll be awesome vids..if u leave ur email ill send u a link 2 my youtube....lol

The Sanyo Xacti waterproof digital camcorder/camera is soooo adorable! I could not believe how SMALL it was when it arrived. My husband likes to film underwater when snorkeling. Previously we used our Sony Camcorder with a "waterproof housing" that was very bulky to travel with, plus a "dive light". Wow, with this baby we are traveling light! You don't need a dive light with the included video editing software, you can adjust the colors to remove the "blue" tint.
The camera is also fantastic for using in the rain, at the beach or the pool - you don't have to worry about it getting a little wet. The camera quality is about what you'd expect - not HD quality but fine for home movies, YouTube, etc. You can bring multiple SD cards with you for tons of recording time - this is much more convenient than the miniDV tapes. I can directly import photos and videos into iTunes and put them on my iPod touch, which is SO convenient. I can't say enough great things about the Sanyo Xacti camera. It's adorable, functional - all in all, a great gadget!

Picking a waterproof camera?

Ok, so in about 6 months I am going on a trip to Belize and want to bring a good camera. I have several things i am looking at:
good megapixels
very good macro setting
waterproof for at least 10 feet
shockproof
a wide angle mode or something like that
I don't know much about cameras, but I'm thinking macro and wide angle might be counter-intuituve (can only one, not both).
I want the good macro for the cool insects, plants, etc we come upon.
I want the waterproof for two reasons: its a rainforest; and we will be going snorkeling
As far as the snorkeling, i don't think we will be going deep so water proof doesn't need to be too deep. I also was thinking a wide angle mode wold be nice to take photos of the reefs and sea life while snorkeling.
So far i've been looking and have narrowed my main consideration down to the Pentax Optio W90 (http://www.pentaximaging.com/digital-camera/Optio_W90_Black/) and the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 (http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1496)
I will consider other options but these are what I'm thinking of so far
