What camera would you recommend...?

Q. To an overly energetic teenager with A.D.D. who wants to get into photography. I'm pretty clumsy so nothing too expensive. I'll probally end up breaking it. Please include brand, model, price, and why. Also a link would be nice. (Btw, I want a digital SLR.)
I already have a digital camera but I want to upgrade to a DSLR. Maybe a Canon or Nikon

Answer
Wow. If you want a DSLR, and preety clumsy and going to break it. You should stay away from a very expensive toy called the DSLR. However, If thats what you want, then thats the info you'll get

Personally, for teenagers, i'll highly recommend the Canon 1000D. A cheap camera that can sustain some knocks. (Just not too hard). I borrowed it from a friend and went for a hiking trip with it, Climbing up a mountain somewhere in Malaysia. (Malaysia is in Southeast Asia). Just beware that DSLRs aren't some waterproof and shockproof olympus compact, and must be handed with care as changing lenses will involve exposing the mirror to the outside world.

If you want something cheaper, then the Nikon D40x would be the way to go. Cheaper, lighter, smaller. 3 reasons for a Nikon D40x.

If you just want to take some shots, I'll recommend the Panasonic Lumix FZ28 with its 18x zoom. Its more of a superzoom, and really very useful if you don't want to carry too much stuff.
A canon alternative would be the Powershot SX10IS

or.. if you want something that fits in your pocket, its the new Canon Powershot SX200IS. with a high 3200 iso for a compact, 12x Optical zoom and 12.1 MP, compacts can't get any better than this. For now at least..

So its your call, if you really want a DSLR, then choose between the canon 1000D/Rebel Xs or Nikon D40
