just get an underwater disposable. any quality dslr is gonna cost MUCH more than $75 for underwater housing. personally i recomend getting the flipvideo hd camera (190) and underwater housing unit (70) and with that you have hd underwater video footage. it's badass!

If I have a $1500 dollar budget for an underwater camera/housing/strobe setup, what kind of set up would you recommend? If possible I believe I would prefer a DSLR as I would like to be able to buy more lens options in the future.

If your going to have a DSLR Underwater i'd recommend a Waterproof case for DSLR:
