this is the memory card I've been looking at: http://www.sandisk.com.au/products/memory-cards/sd/extremepro-uhs-1-95mbs/?capacity=16GB

I've been told by someone on here that my camera won't actually be able to fully utilise that memory card because my camera is not that advanced.

Should I be getting a class 6 instead?
I like the fact that this memory card is waterproof, and so is my camera, so if my camera leaks it wont be such a huge disaster.
and roughly the maximum MB/s that my camera could use, if you could make an estimate?

Answer
You don't need a UHS-1 card for your little point and shoot camera. And you certainly don't need one as fast as 95MB/sec. They are more for advanced professional cameras, not point and shoot.

You will want a Class 10 SDHC card...because your camera records Full HD video. JB HiFi has the 16GB Sandisk Extreme 30MB/sec Class 10 for $23...it's MORE than enough for your camera...

Just remember to format it via the camera Menu before you use it the first time.

Answer
I think you'd be fine with a 45MB/s card at half the price. If you want to spend more on a card, consider getting a 32GB card. A 32GB 45MB/s card is still a little cheaper than the one you linked.

You might consider that a Sandisk card will last "forever" and you would be able to use it in any new camera you might buy in the future.
