best waterproof digital camera kids image

I'm split 50/50 on both. I've read the reviews but I just think I need more advice. Have you used it, did you like one or the other? What didn't you like? Was it worth it?
My cousin is obsessed with electronics and whenever I come over he is always trying to use my digital camera, he's very creative and needs a postive way to express himself, I think this is a good gift for him.

i would always go with the fisher price i got my son the kid tough waterproof and he loves it i got the case for it i think the whole thing with the card was about 100.00 bucks and he cannot destroy this thing i would go with the fisher price name everytime

In the market for buying a good digital camera for taking pics of small, detailed pieces - any suggestions?

Hi, I am looking to buy a new digital camera. I will be taking alot of pictures of handmade jewelry, fossils, and shark teeth, but at the same time I will be using it for the family. Mainly because I don't have the money to buy 2 separate cameras. Also, it would be great if the camera was waterproof - you know how kids can be! Any help would be appreciated!!

Many P&S cameras are surprisingly good at taking macro shots (as long as you read the manual properly and learn how to do it!!).
When you take a lot of those photos, you'll be very grateful to have a camera with a flip out screen (like this: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=144&modelid=17630) because it saves you bending down at odd angles... makes life much easier!
That particular camera is actually really good all around - not quite a DSLR, but much better than the tiny P&S cameras in many ways.
Make sure to learn about photography so you can make the most out of your equipment - you'll be very glad you did.
