I really want to start doing underwater photography, but I can not find a good camera anywhere that is less than 1000$. If anyone has one they got pretty inexpensive, please tell me!!! Thanks.

Totally depends on how deep underwater you want to go, most camera manufacturers make cameras that can withstand being 30ft or so underwater, Pentax and Olympus come strait to mind, prices for the whole camera start at around $200.

If you want to go deeper than that then everything gets more expensive rapidly, up to around 80ft, a simple plastic housing works ($1000), beyond that (100ft - 150 ft) and you need a metal and glass/plastic pressurised housing ($5000).
Beyond a 200ft and you need an armoured pressurised housing and your into real money ($100,000 +), and the cost of a hoist to lift it in and out of the water.
Every 33ft puts one more atmosphere of pressure onto the camera (and you).
