Fotopix DW-7Y Waterproof Digital Camera
why would you give the this camera the score that you did
Answer
-10
Things that make this camera bad:
- the sensor (physical size) is smaller than the typical underwater compact camera.
- digital zoom only.
- AAA batteries - very short battery life.
- lomo camera (AKA - junky, cheap, etc).
- 100 to 400 iso
- 720p video
- flash guide number 1.2 (about as much as a flashlight)
- 10ft waterproof rating (most good underwater compact cameras are 33ft or more).
- $70 (way too expensive... this is your basic $35 camera).

Is there a rechargeable point and shoot camera under $100-$150?
Viva La Ev
I work as a graphic designer for a non-profit, and instead of purchasing stock photos or taking pictures with my smart phone, they're giving me $130 towards a new camera.
The only downside is, they want it to have a rechargable battery so they dont have to shell out the extra $$$ for batteries.
To be honest, I'd shell out an extra $50 if needed, but I say $100 for camera, because the $30 is for a MicroSD card and Tax, and tripod if needed.
any ideas where I can get one? Any ideas? needs to be rechargable. 10-15+ MP+ would be awesome.
No Digital SLR neccessary. point and shoot ok.
if it takes only video, I can also be ok with that.
if it only takes pictures, I can't get that one.

First, here is a link you can use to compare any cameras that meet your budget. Different camera brands in your price range usually have similar features, but it is a good idea to check here before you buy.

Almost all P&S cameras now can shoot in HD video and have at least a 3x optical zoom. The cameras in your price range use AA batteries however, so you will have to buy rechargeable AA batteries and a charger. The best AA batteries are called Low Self-discharge NiMH batteries and most cameras that use AA batteries are optimized to use those batteries.
For $30 you can buy more than one memory card, however a tripod will cost closer to $40 for a table top tripod like Gorillapod. The full size tripods cost just under your whole budget at about $100.
It seems that the person who gave you your camera budget limits, did not know what it costs to buy a camera, tripod, memory card and rechargeable batteries.
I just looked on the Nikon website and their least expensive P&S camera costs $120, although it is waterproof and shock proof which may be a good idea for a camera that may be used by people other than you.
You can find good deals on memory cards on Amazon. Usually when you buy on line there is no tax and if you bundle the purchases, shipping is free.
Check for refurbished cameras on line. They are usually priced within your budget range..
Most P&S cameras do not use micro-SD card. They use full size SD cards, with is a good thing since they are harder to misplace of lose.
I suggest you spend some time on the Amazon site looking for the items you need for your non-profit business and either find a sponsor to help you with the purchase of at camera, two memory cards and a tripod. With your allocated $130 and help from a sponsor, you should be able to have what you need.
Unfortunately, $100 or less digital cameras usually do not have optical zoom lenses and you do NOT want to be stuck using a digital zoom
