I want a digital camera for outside/waterproof?

My birthday is in March and I am going to washington D.C. I want a new digital camera. One that is good for outside photos as well as inside. I was also looking at waterproof cameras but I don't think I want one, unless I can find a really nice one. My price range is like no more than $300. So I want high quality for less price. Please give me specific brands and styles if possible. Oh, and color doesn't matter to much.

Digital underwater cameras?

Hi,

Can anyone please recommend a digital underwater camera for me? I dive (down to 30m) and snorkel quite a bit as I'm backpacking through SE Asia.
Is it possible to get a camera that is always waterproof (and doesn't need a housing) that is good enough to use as a normal camera for everyday use also?
I like the look of the olympus ones but they don't go deep enough for what I am really after.

I'm going to Singapore in a few days so I'm hoping to buy one there.
