what is a good camera to have on my vest while on patrol in afghanistan for instance ive been looking at the sony bloggie's webbie's and the kodiak zi8, flip. something along these lines. i want something that i can rig onto my body armor that will video record while on a walking patrol something stable and decent quality a plus would be durability.

Two questions are important here - what's your budget & how deep do you want to go?

If its just messing about in rockpools or snorkelling, then a waterproof digital like the Fuji would do;

If your going to scuba dive, you need a rigid housing. Either for a compact (some packages here;

or you need a DSLR housing (the most expensive option).

Once you get below a few metres, you'll need flash. On camera flash will be useless unless the water is very clear AND you are close. You'd need to get an off camera flash (available for both compacts and DSLR's) which fits on an arm.
