What kind of digital cameras do you reccomend for a teen? ( I'd like it to be waterproof)?

I want the Olympus Stylus 850 sw but it is so pricey that i'm pretty sure my parents wont buy it for me. Are there any other cool digital cameras for teens? Any other waterproof cameras that are less expensive?
Also, if you can find anywhere that I can buy the 850 sw for less than $209, it would be greatly appreciated.

How do I make my camera water resistant using a plastic bag?

I want to take pictures during a light rain. I have a Sony NEX-5R. I have searched the internet, but I can only find pre-made bags for sale or instructions on waterproof boxes.
I just want to make sure what materials to use and the most important parts of the camera to keep covered/uncovered.

I use a product called Rain Sleeve when shooting in the rain of where mud can get on my camera

They cost about $6 and come in a pack of two
