I have a photo assignment. Self portrait of your zodiac sign. I am Aquarius. I want to take a picture of myself underwater (in an indoor pool)

Wow, I didn't know they still made underwater disposables!

Seems that Fuji's "Quick Snap" single-use underwater camera got the highest consumer ratings on amazon:

Sounds like a fun project, btw.

Can i make a underwater case for my camera?

Well, for my video production class.. My group and I are filming a scene underwater.. And our teacher told us not to go buy a case because its expensive and we would only be filming the underwater scene this ONE time. And she told us to try making a case.. Any ideas on how to do that?

I built a cheap underwater video camera using a small, 2 ounce nalgene bottle and a board camera built for the security industry and normally used for covert security. This was more of a remote camera, as the power and video was kept high and dry in the boat. I used a small 12 volt battery from radio shack and recorded the video with the analog in/out jack on my GL-2. The little camera produced good, not great, footage. This particular camera blacks out areas of brightness, like the sun or headlights...should not be a problem submerged.

Here are links for the three major parts. I used a bigger battery, this one should give several hours of use. You can also use a car battery but a fuse should be added and it would be a good idea to include a resistor.

Construction was simple: I made a foam washer to fit around the lens to keep it from moving or twisting. I heavily caulked the wires, both inside and outside the nalgene bottle.

I used this in shallow water to 10 feet. I don't know how deep the nalgene bottle will go without crushing in on the camera, but it will crush before it leaks! I use this little thing all the time and have mounted it on kayaks, ski tips, bikes, etc. It lets me record fair video without exposing my GL-2 to the hazard, it and the battery are in a dry-box or a backpack.

I've also built cases from Plexiglas. If you can set the camera to record and then screw on the top without further need to reach the controls, it is very easy. If you need to work a button or two it gets a little more complicated. If you need to twist focus rings...you are almost better off just buying one!

I have wondered if my remotes could be placed in a dry bag and used to control the camera in a sealed, simple box//??..
