waterproof cameras??

Hayley S

okay well in april we are going to be going to disney world for a vacation and i have been to disney like 5 other times but this is the first year we are staying on disney property and i think it is gonna be a lot of fun but i have been having trouble with my camera and my parents agreed that they would buy me one but that would be the one i would have to keep for good since this is my fourth camera. so i have been doing some research and i really want it to be waterproof since we will be swimming and going to water parks. so my question is does anyone know of a good digital waterproof camera that is really good? and well worth the money? thanks!!

Answer
The Olympus stylus 770 sw is waterproof up to 33 feet without a case. It is also shockproof, snowproof, and crushproof.

here's the rest of the specs:

Should I get a waterproof camera?

I already have a great camera that is not waterproof, but I think it would be great to get a waterproof camera. I don't go to the beach or pool that much, but I do sometimes, and every year I go to Vermont where I swim in the lake. I found a waterproof camera on amazon for pretty cheap. Do you think it would be worth it to buy a waterproof camera or should I just use my non waterproof one?

Answer
it depends on 1. how much you use your camera, and 2. if you can replace the camera with it. also, what price is the camera, is it higher or lower than the original cameras price or is it being sold for the same amount. you could also use an alternative like a plastic bag or a plastic casing, or if you have the know how just make your own plastic case, although the plastic bag i wouldn't suggest since the bag can accidentally get opened. it all comes down to if you will use it, if you wont use it, then it wouldn't be worth it, if you will use it, i would say, get it, and if you do find a picture you want to take but you don't come back to that place often, it would be a good idea for that one time underwater shot.
