Can you put a camera in a ziplock bag and go underwater?

I was wondering if my digital camera were to get wet if I sealed it in a ziplock bag and went underwater in a pool to take pictures?

It would - til it leaks.

I have a simpler solution. Look for the inexpensive waterproof disposable cameras out there.
