waterproof camera 40 meters image
Sparkles
Ok, so I love taking pictures of my kids and just portrait pictures outside and indoors and in remote locations. The problem? I have a Fuji s5000=3mp! My pictures so all so super super super grainy and blurry and they just aren't crisp or sharp as I want...What is the best semi pro/pro dslr camera for this? I hate when I take a picture that would be absolutely beautiful but it isn't clear or crisp so the whole picture is junk. I need an upgrade and I need advice...opinions...on both semi and professional. I just want something that will take amazing pictures and will last me a while. Thanks so much!

hi mum... thats a nice cake, ill bet youve got a wonderful oven... (johnny gets NO cake)
come on folks, nikon isnt the be all and end all... especially if you havent got a few thousand lying around...
i discovered some imagery i shot back in 2002/3 its was done on a pathetic Olympus Uz740,, at 3.2mp... and franky i was stunned... which reinforces my point... the CAMERA PERSON has the skills, NOT the over priced, badge engineered lump of glass and plastic.
sure we'd all love to buy a D300, or an E5, or a D1... but, we live in the real world, with bills to pay... im a lifelong Olympus user. these days i shoot with an E510. 11mp, ok its not a D80... but, its half the price, half the weight, and the metering system runs rings around nikon and canon... the E510 cost me 215 quid on ebay, with 8000 shutter activations.. (my e500 has over 40 thousand shots)
the camera is a tool, like a hammer, and it sure helps if you knw how to use it... but, even an idiot can bang a nail in.. look around, make up your own mind.. and, as youre used to the fuji menu, then you can get a s9600 for under 100 quid... (9mp with FMV) or you can blow it on a S2... which is fuji's copy of the nikon D200... or, theres the E1. Olympuses first pro DSLR< with 4/3rds lens, and a sealed aluminium body... its waterproof... and pretty bulletproof... 6mp which may not seem like a lot, but its good all rounder...

Answer
Just over your budget at $110...but only 22 grams.
It is from the UK, so take postage in to account.
Looks good....works down to 10 metres (30').....and even mentions submarines in the write up....

Or this one...works down to 75' but no mention of weight.
Definitely over budget but he'll take offers. Worth starting at $100 and see what happens.....
