waterproof digital cameras ebay image

Hi,
Looking for a small digital camera that can take both high quality photos and videos. Searched ebay and found this:

What is your opinion on it?

Run, don't walk away from that camera.
18megapixels - interpolated? not a normal camera spec.
4x digital zoom - no good.
VGA video - also no good - it's low grade, and you won't be happy with that.
AAA battery powered - worth about 40 photos before having to change batteries.
You will be spending more money on batteries than the camera costs.
Interpolated to me means predictive. In other words, the sensor is likely much less than 18Mp but it guesses pixels from the real pixels to increase resolution. Not much use other than inflating the specification.
You will notice it does not say 18 Mp "sensor"... it says 18 MP "resolution", which also enforces my thoughts as what interpolated means.
If you want a good underwater camera, buy this refurbished Nikon AW100 for $170.

what kind of shoes should i wear for shore excursions in the Caribbean?

we're going on a cruise to the western caribbean in a week =)
our shore excursions include touring the Mayan ruins, tubing down a jungle river, and snorkeling
i'm just curious what kind of clothing and footwear one should wear.
and another just paranoid question, but i own a nice digital camera and i'm going to want to take pictures, a lot of them, but on the shore excursions when i'm surrounded by water, will i be able to use it?
or should i go ahead and buy a water proof camera?

We go on cruises every year.
I can tell you from past experience, where comfortable clothing.
I usually wear a bathing suit if I know we are doing an excursion that entails water. I put shorts on, and a tank top.
I wear water shoes, because you can wear them on the streets and in the water.
As far as your camera. If it is expensive don't bring it with you. Get a waterproof disposable one for like $12.00. They also sell them on the boat. You can even take underwater pictures. Ok, so you can't download them on your computer, but you'll still have pictures.
You can also get a waterproof case for your camera. (Check your local camera store) You can find them on Ebay but you may not get it in time. Check though, you never know!
